Charlie sleeps wherever he wants. Usually the coolest or warmest place. On the bed, behind the recliner, under the table, in the recliner when I am in the computer chair, in the computer chair when I am in the recliner, etc.[To Top]
Charlie is my Cocker Spaniel companion - I got Charlie when he was 6 years old in 1993. [To Top]
Charlie likes to go for rides - go bye bye. He gets to see other people [gets tired of me all the time I guess] gets to see other "doggies" out-and-about. Charlie likes to go for rides cause he gets doggie snacks at the bank drive-thru, the pharmacy drive-thru. Charlie likes to stay at motels cause they have these shiny, slippery bed-spreads - he likes to roll around on his back on the bed spread. [To Top]

I don't take any cards for a fee - if there are 30 entries in the monthly drawing - the winner will receive 60 postcards. I buy cards off of ebay mostly. Sometimes I find them at yard sales or thrift stores. I also buy them at places where you buy them - Walmart, Hallmark, Truck Stops, etc. [To Top]
It might be listed in their preferences... however, just post a message to the list that you're interested in this kind of trading. [To Top]
Brief bio eh? The site came about when Peggy and Sheila suggested I start my own list. [ Sep '99 ]
I don't trade much anymore - just buy and sell. I will trade with someone that has what I am looking for including near mint to mint continentals I can use to give back to the winners. I don't want any of the cards that were sent to you as winning cards. Example - if you have a lot of maps or stadiums or coastal postcards, etc that you want to trade - I might have something that you collect. I collect mostly older cards - email me if you have any older cards to trade for newer ones.

All of a sudden I see a series of posts with just "WOOF." What does that mean?
If you see the words "Charlie" and "Awake" anywhere in the text of a message originated by the Possum - reply with that message and type WOOF in the text area. Must be all Caps and no punctuation. If two or more woofs come in at the same time - no split on ties. Each person will get 4 postcards. There is a 1 hour time limit from the time the original message is sent out.[To Top]
Full rules for Bingo are near the bottom of this page, Bingo.[To Top]
If I wanted to participate in the monthly themed where do I mail my postcards?
The address will be on the email announcing the drawing each month.[To Top]
Does this group have monthly swaps?
We usually have a one card swap and then either a 4 card or a Mega (10 card) swap.[To Top]
Can anyone post a contest or start a swap? Do you need to get it "cleared" first?
You can post a question if you want and award the winner a postcard or postcards. Normally we don't allow anyone to post swaps - there might be a time when Debbie and myself are busy or out-of-town where a list member can post a swap. You may host a RR Round Robin if you wish.[To Top]
The judge judges only the cards he or she receives. The judges may or may not rotate each month so no one knows who the judge will be for a given contest.[To Top]
What exactly is a "Standard" postcard? What is a "Continental" card?
"Standard" postcards measure 3.5x5.5" (89x140mm) while "continentals" measure 4x6" (100x150mm). Of course, these are approximations. Individual manufacturers and cards can and do vary. In some regions regulations specified other slightly smaller or larger sizes. Although cards that are 4x6" (100x150mm) are the most common card today, when a postcard says "standard," they mean something smaller.[To Top]
What is a Modern size postcard?
I define a Modern size postcard measuring slightly larger than a Continental - 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".[To Top]
What is an Over-size postcard?
A postcard larger than a Modern size postcard.[To Top]
A LARGE LETTER (LL) Postcard is a postcard with large block letters usually from a city or State. Inside the block letters are views from the city or state.[To Top]
Is there any difference between a used and a traveled postcard?
The terminology used on ebay goes like this - Unused and Used. Unused is a postcard that hasn't been sent through the mails. Used is a postally used postcard or could also be called a traveled postcard. Used meaning postally used. Unused meaning a card that could be in Poor to Mint condition but not sent thru the mails. Clear as mud?[To Top]

What makes a card a collectable or valuable? a piece of trash or an antique?

Post an email to the list and tell what preferences you are looking for and post a list of postcards you have to trade. Ask your trader's to email you at your private email.[To Top]
You can list the cards you have available to trade. If you have Maps you might want to add the # that you find on the back of the map. If the card is not near mint or mint condition you might want to add if it is ex condition or whatever condition it is - same for size, type, etc. EXTRA (from Possum member Jennifer) There are a lot of traders out there that don't have these "advantages". However, just to let you know that scanner prices are pretty reasonable and easy to use... and there are lots of free web page space out there. Letting your trading partner choose the cards they like just makes it easier to fill their collecting preferences... but it is in no way a neccessary part of postcard trading... in fact many people like to be suprised with what comes in the mail. :)[To Top]
What is a UNESCO site or postcard? ( I see that someone collects those.)
